Bumbling Paxton Prosecution needs a Do-Over

Two first-degree felony charges against Attorney General Ken Paxton were dismissed Tuesday and replaced with new indictments that clarify the securities fraud allegations.

Paxton’s lawyer, Joe Kendall, said the new indictments by a Collin County grand jury confirm “troubling issues” with the case.

“They had months to investigate and then rushed to indict. Now, the special prosecutors are back to clean up the botched indictments,” Kendall said. “It should make every fair-minded person question the process in this case.”
