#TXLEGE: Democrats illustrate how Straus greases skids for their bills....

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
1 Corinthians 15:33

On the one hand, the Twitterfication of political coverage is one of the most lamentable and obnoxious trends of the past decade; on the other hand, occasionally a single tweet really does tell you everything you need to know:

For your consideration:

358 bills / a 55 member caucus = 6.5 bills per Democrat.

Keep in mind, these are bills that made it through the Senate (*); we suspect the number of Democrat bills that passed the House and died in the Senate is significantly higher.

Meanwhile, only one member of the Freedom caucus even passed a bill out of the chamber, and that was a non-controversial bill about a hospital district in Mike Lang's district (which ultimately made it across the finish line).

Bottom Line: 358 Democrat bills crossed the finish line compared to 1 Freedom Caucus bill....

* - We've yet to do a deep dive on this (and, considering that the special is on the horizon, probably won't), but last session we looked into the Democrat bills that passed the Senate and found that the overwhelming majority of them were relatively minor local bills.

While most people consider Joe Straus a RINO, he may be more of an ANTI-Republican or ANTI-Conservative or ANTI-Freedom or CLOSETED-Democrat than a RINO.
